When it comes to all things public speaking, that’s what I want to be – the person who knows the “secrets” to help you get on stage, supports you in creating a powerful presentation that connects with your audience, and gives you the training you need to give an amazing performance.

The first time I ever spoke on a real stage, I was 14, an 8th grader. My social studies teacher “strongly encouraged” me to enter a local speech contest and I made it to the finals.

Pretty good for a kid who didn’t want to do it… I’m thankful to this day that Mr. Johnson “strongly encouraged” me to give it a try.

I didn’t win but I learned some things that impact my work to this day. Two things that were true then, are still true now.

One, telling a powerful story can command the attention of a room full of people.

And two, a person with a microphone is the most visible person in any space.

Today, my greatest joy is guiding someone who is a rockstar at what they do to the microphone that’s right for them.

The one that’s in front of an audience that can’t wait to know them and work with them.
